Progress Report!

So... last night I received my first contribution! $100 dollars down, $2,900 to go! God is faithful.
"5 Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD. 6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin."(Exodus 34:5-7)

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! What a wonderful and blessed day. America, we are fortunate and extremely blessed.
BLESSED
That is the only word I could think of when I woke up this morning at my parents house, surrounded by family. Such a wonderful life. I don't have to worry about much at all, and my few stresses pale in comparison to what many people face. Everything isn't perfect, but I am blessed.
"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."(Luke 12:48)

I have received abundantly. It is time to start giving. So in March, I will leave behind a comfy life filled with friends and family, head to a dry land and bring with me living water!
"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."(John 7:38)

I'm going to show orphans, who have never been loved, God's Love. I'm gong to bring God's peace to people in refugee camps, who have lived in the midst of war their entire lives. I'm going, armed with the fruits of the Spirit, to be His hands and feet.
"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23)

The trip:
Where: Jinja, Uganda, Africa (I will be living with my Aunt Sandy and Uncle Rob. They have been missionaries there since 2000)
When: March 20- May 15 (tentatively)
What I need: Prayers (lots of them) and financial support (If the Lord leads you to it)
How to contribute: The donate button at the top of the page, or I would love to give you my address, just message me.

Please continually pray for me and for all of the great things God wants to use me for! May God Bless your new year!

What's this all about?

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19)
That's what I'm doing. I'm going. For so long my selfishness had stifled my faith. All of the reasons I couldn't GO. All of the things I couldn't do. All of my reasons had packed my great big God into a tiny little box. I was stuck within the confines of what I knew and what I thought I wanted. I was comfortable and quite content.

But God has a way of breaking down walls and barriers we build for ourselves. He has a way of pushing through to the very core, through to the heart of hearts, and touching your heart to reveal the dreams that your earthly limitations suppress. The desires and hopes that monotony and everyday life just push to the side for "someday".
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."(Jeremiah 29:11)
Ha. I love breakthrough. It took me so long to realize that God does have a plan for me. He wants to use me in mighty ways. I am his warrior.

God has provided me with the opportunity to spend some time in Jinja, Uganda, AFRICA! It's so easy for me to doubt the fact that I will ever make it there, but I am turning over a new leaf. I am standing on the faith that God wants me to go and God will provide the way!! I need to raise about $3000 to cover all the expenses of this trip (plane ticket, passport and visa applications, necessary vaccinations). To me, that is a very large goal and the pessimistic side of me says 'NO WAY'. But what is money to the God of the universe?
"1 Praise be to the LORD my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle.

2 He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me.

3 O LORD, what is man that you care for him,
the son of man that you think of him?

4 Man is like a breath;
his days are like a fleeting shadow.

5 Part your heavens, O LORD, and come down;
touch the mountains, so that they smoke.

6 Send forth lightning and scatter {the enemies};
shoot your arrows and rout them.

7 Reach down your hand from on high;
deliver me and rescue me
from the mighty waters,
from the hands of foreigners

8 whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.

9 I will sing a new song to you, O God;
on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,

10 to the One who gives victory to kings,
who delivers his servant David from the deadly sword.

11 Deliver me and rescue me
from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.

12 Then our sons in their youth
will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
carved to adorn a palace.

13 Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;

14 our oxen will draw heavy loads.
There will be no breaching of walls,
no going into captivity,
no cry of distress in our streets.

15 Blessed are the people of whom this is true;
blessed are the people whose God is the LORD."
(Psalm 144)
